Demmer Library to hold free AIS?program June 19

The Edward Demmer Memorial Library in Three Lakes will host a free environmental program Wednesday, June 19, at 6:30 p.m. in the lower level.

Oneida County’s aquatic invasive species (AIS) team will discuss ways to make a positive impact regarding AIS.

Attendees will learn about using milfoil for compost, obtain recipes for rusty crayfish and learn how to raise purple loosestrife beetles.

Demmer announces summer programs

The Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library’s summer reading program will be the theme “Groundbreaking Reads” in 2013, as participants will explore groundbreaking books and dig into a variety of movies, magazines, music and more.

The 2013 program is open to adults age 18 years and older, with programs, prizes and special events. The adult program will run concurrently with the children’s program “Dig Into Reading” and the young adults’ program “Beneath the Surface”.

Trees For Tomorrow to present program at Demmer Library

The Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library will host a free children’s program presented by Trees For Tomorrow Wednesday, June 19, at 10:30 a.m. in the lower level of the library.

A natural resource educator from Trees For Tomorrow will present a hands-on soil sculptures program. Children and their families are welcome to come and discover what different soils are made of, how they hold water, and why some plants grow better in different soils.

Library plans computer class PDF Print E-mail

Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library will hold a free basic computer skills class Wednesday, June 12, at 6:30 p.m.
Participants will learn tips for getting started using a computer in this one-hour class. They’ll learn the basics of searching the Internet, how to create an email account and how to type a word document.
More advanced topics may be covered  if class time permits. Participants should bring a laptop computer or a pen to take notes.

ATV meeting set Thursday PDF Print E-mail

The Three Lakes/Nicolet ATV club, in conjunction with the Oneida County Highway Commission as per county policy, will hold a public hearing at the Three Lakes Community Center, Thursday, June 6, at 6:30 p.m.
The hearing will address potentially using Highway A in Three Lakes for all-terrain vehicle traffic.

Women's club to host June 19 presidents lunch

The Three Lakes Women’s Club will hold its annual Past Presidents Luncheon Wednesday, June 19, at Black Forest Pub and Grill in Three Lakes, beginning with a social at 11 a.m.
Lunch will take place at noon, followed by a ceremony honoring the past presidents. Officers for the upcoming year also will be installed.
Menu choices for the lunch include pork tenderloin with garlic mashed potatoes; lemon pepper broiled cod with broccoli; and pasta primavera.
