8th graders set dinner

The Three Lakes eighth-grade class will hold its Bluejay Bistro fundraiser Saturday, Nov. 23, at the Sugar Camp Town Hall to raise money for its upcoming trip to Washington, D.C.

The?all-you-can-eat spaghetti dinner with marinara or meat sauce with a side of garlic bread and Caesar salad will be served by the students. Coffee, juice and dessert also will be served. Soft drinks will be available for an additional cost.

Dinner will be served from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door at a cost of $8 for adults, $5 for youths 6-12 and free for those five and younger. There also will be raffles at the event.

Three Lakes Fire Department hears task force presentation

The Three Lakes Fire Department recently heard from members of the Racine County Fire Investigation Task Force (RCFITF) at one of its regular training meetings.

The meetings are held the second Monday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in Station No. 1.

Each month, the firefighters look at different topics and receive training that enables them to deal with unique situations that could be found at a fire scene.

Legion schedules Vets Day dinner

The Three Lakes American Legion Post 431 and Auxiliary will hold its annual Veterans Day Dinner Dance on Saturday, Nov. 9.

A social hour will begin at 5 p.m. and dinner will be at 6 p.m. The dinner will include beef pot roast with all the trimmings, coffee and dessert for a cost of $8.

Cancer awareness walk
The Three Lakes High School Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) club recently held a breast cancer awareness walk and fundraiser at the school track. For a donation of $10, students from kindergarten through 12th grade were able to participate in the walk. The FBLA will donate the $900 raised to the Pink Ribbon Riders. —Photo By Jan Hintz

Students plan dinner Nov. 18 for Demmer

Students at Three Lakes High School will partner with Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library to hold a spaghetti dinner fundraiser on Monday, Nov. 18.

The event will be held in the Three Lakes High School commons area from 4 to 7 p.m. and will raise funds for the library’s renovation project.

The menu will include a French spaghetti bake, breadsticks, dessert and beverages for a donation of $8 for adults and $5 for children ages 6-18.

Demmer schedules e-reader workshop

Edward U. Demmer Memorial Library will welcome the public to a free e-reader workshop Wednesday, Nov. 13, at 4 p.m.

The one-hour event will feature hands-on demonstration with Nooks, iPads, Google’s Nexus 10 and Kindle devices.

The workshop will cover basic terminology, the variety of options available and the  pros and cons of various devices.

Eighth graders set cake auction

The Three Lakes eighth-grade class will hold its fifth annual cake auction Friday, Nov. 8, beginning with viewing and registration at 6 p.m.

The live cake auction is set to begin at 7 p.m.

All proceeds from the event will go to the eighth-grade class

Legion, Auxiliary to hold Veterans Day Dinner Dance
