Woman’s club to hold annual chili luncheon

The Three Lakes Woman’s Club will hold its annual chili luncheon Wednesday, Jan. 15, at the Reiter Center in Three Lakes.

A social will start at 11 a.m., followed by the chili lunch at noon.

This month, the speaker will be Chris Cook, a member of the 2006 U.S. Olympic cross-country ski team. He will speak on the topic “Dream Big — My Experience as an Olympic Athlete.”

Legion sets New Year’s party

The Three Lakes American Legion will hold its annual New Year’s party Tuesday, Dec. 31.

Participants should take hors d’oeuvres to share. Free champagne and party favors will be given out at midnight. Scott Kane will provide music for entertainment and dancing from 8:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.

The public is welcome and no reservations are needed. For more information, call the Legion at (715) 546-3431 after noon.

The next business meeting of the American Legion and Auxiliary will be held Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2014, at 7 p.m.

Holiday breakfast
The Three Lakes Women’s Club recently held its annual holiday breakfast at the Reiter Center. Club members collected items for Three Lakes Christian Food Pantry and prepared goodie bags for children attending the December story hour at Demmer Library. Students attend singing festival

Twenty-five general and vocal music students in grades five through 12 recently participated in the 21st annual music festival “Singing in Wisconsin,” which was held in four sites around the state.

Sponsored by the Wisconsin Choral Directors Association, the festival took place at locations in Appleton, Chippewa Falls, West Milwaukee and Wausau, where singers performed the same songs at concerts held at the same time at all four sites.
