Affordable Care Act enrollment event set

Bridge Community Health Clinic in Wausau will hold an Affordable Care Act enrollment event for Oneida County residents Wednesday, Dec. 11, from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Oneida County Public Health Department, located at 100 W. Keenan St. in Rhinelander.

For those seeking enrollment assistance or information about Affordable Health Care plans, certified application counselors will be available for walk-in appointments.

They will have laptops to assist people with enrollment and to answer questions. Each hour, a presentation on the Affordable Health Care Act will be offered.

The deadline for coverage to begin Jan. 1, 2014, is Dec. 23. The final enrollment deadline is March 31, 2014.

Xmas concerts slated at school

The Three Lakes School District will hold three upcoming holiday concerts.

Sugar Camp Elementary School will hold its program at the Three Lakes High School auditorium Thursday, Dec. 12, at 6:30 p.m.

Three Lakes junior and senior high school students will perform Monday, Dec. 16, at 7 p.m. in the auditorium.

The Three Lakes Elementary School’s Christmas program will be held Tuesday, Dec. 17, at 6:30 p.m. in the auditorium.

Students in staches
Sugar Camp School students collected food and other nonperishable items for the Three Lakes Christian Food Pantry during the week of Nov. 11. The drive was organized by Student Council members in grades three through six. Three Lakes Historical Society announces 2014 activity schedule

The Three Lakes Historical Society and Museum recently announced its activities for the next year.

The museum, located at 1798 Huron St. in Three Lakes, is dedicated to collecting, preserving and sharing historical and cultural artifacts related to the history of the community of Three Lakes and the surrounding area.

On the museum grounds is a 100-year-old period house, two exhibit halls and five specialized collections buildings.

Lions club to hold Kids Holiday Party

The Three Lakes Lions Club will hold its annual Kids Holiday Party Saturday, Dec. 7, at Bonnie’s Lakeside at 11:30 a.m.

Children attending will be treated to hot dogs, chips, sodas and hot chocolate. Hayrides are slated to begin at noon.

“We sincerely hope that there will be snow for the hayride,” said Program Chairman and club member Kay Coates.

Santa will hand out door prizes along with the usual Christmas treats.

Thanksgiving dinner

Women’s club sets holiday breakfast

The Three Lakes Women’s Club will hold a holiday breakfast Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at the Reiter Center.

The Three Lakes High School choir will perform after the breakfast.

The event also will feature an optional gift exchange. To participate, attendees should take a gift valued at $10. The gifts should be wrapped with donor’s name inside.

Legion plans annual party for holiday

The Three Lakes American Legion Post 413 and Auxiliary will hold its annual Christmas party Saturday, Dec. 14.

The evening will begin with a social hour and hors d’oeuvres at 5:30 p.m. followed by a beef tenderloin dinner at 7 p.m.

The cost for the dinner is $18 and must be paid in advance.

Reiter Center hosted
the community event

Students, parents, administration, faculty and school board members of Three Lakes High School gathered at the Reiter Center for the 15th annual academic banquet Oct. 20.

Students were awarded academic letters or bronze, silver or gold medals according to their semester grade-point averages. The first six points earned a student a letter, then the next six points, a bronze medal, with a gold being the highest, worth 24 points.

The Three Lakes Woman’s Club held its Antiques Road Show meeting, and Donna Mather of Back Country Crafts & Antiques and Sue Sorg of Lazy Susan’s evaluated and appraised items brought in by club members.

The next meeting of the Woman’s Club will be a holiday breakfast that will take place Wednesday, Dec. 11, at 9:30 a.m. at the Reiter Center.
