Historical museum opens new snowmobile exhibit

The Three Lakes Historical Museum opened a new exhibit in the Goldsworthy Exhibit Hall Saturday. The exhibit highlights the importance snowmobiling has had in Three Lakes.

Progress continues on message board, personalized plaques, bricks available

The Three Lakes School District and Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce and Welcome Center Inc. will continue work on its new electronic message center at Cy Williams Park by offering personalized plaques and bricks in exchange for donations.

The two entities have entered into a partnership to construct the state-of-the-art sign, which provides an opportunity to view most area events on a continuous basis.

Concert set Tuesday at gazebo

The Three Lakes Historical Society will welcome 50’s Fair Play — a ‘50s and ‘60s classic rock band — to its Concerts in the Park series  Tuesday evening, July 8, at 7 p.m. at the Cy Williams Park gazebo.

Members of this five-piece band include North Woods performers Joe Brusoe, Theresa Seabloom, Dianne Mueller, Denny Froelich and Bea Kerner.

Chapel in the Pines sets summer schedule

The Chapel in the Pines is set to begin its 91st summer serving Three Lakes, offering worship services Sunday mornings at 10 a.m.

The chapel is located on Preachers Point Road about five miles outside of Three Lakes. To get to the chapel, take Highway X to Reed Road, then take a right on Preachers Point Road.

Officially, the chapel is owned by the Ladysmith Point and Vinden Beach Campers Association, according to the chapel co-chair Jim Morley.

Grandma Goes to Antarctica program set at Center for Arts

Jeanne Roppolo will present a program detailing her journey to Antarctica Wed­nesday, July 2, at 6:30 p.m. at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts in the Northwoods.

Women’s club plans social at Reiter Center

The Three Lakes Women’s Club will hold its July meeting and ice cream social at the Reiter Center Wednesday, July 16, at 1 p.m.

This month, Lety Seibel of the Teaching Drum School will give a presentation titled “Balance is Wild.”

Adirondack chair raffle to benefit Aqua Devils

The Three Lakes Aqua Devils Waterski Club will raffle an Adirondack chair crafted by Anthony Regole of Chair Built Custom Woodworking, who built the chair using vintage wooden skis.

The chair will be on display in the Fourth of July parade in Three Lakes, at that evening’s waterski show and at each show Wednesdays and Saturdays at 6:30 p.m. at the Phyllis B. Felland
