The Three Lakes Lions Club will hold its 60th annual Ice Fishing Derby and raffles Saturday, Feb. 23, from 10 a.m. to 3:30 p.m at the grounds of the Three Lakes Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center on Superior Street.
Cash prizes will be awarded for the largest and the second-largest northern, walleye, bass and total panfish weight.
There also will be separate $50 prizes for the largest fish of any kind caught by a child 12 years old or younger. Youths, supervised by a parent, are welcome to participate.

The Three Lakes Center for the Arts in the Northwoods will host the musical group Harmonius Wail Saturday, Feb. 23, at 7 p.m.
In their twenty year history, Harmonious Wail has won multiple awards, ranging from Best Jazz CD, Best Ensemble Vocalist, Favorite Jazz Band, Best World Song and more.
Drawing from the rich influence of the European gypsy music, created by Django Rheinhart and Stephane Grappelli, the Wail presents a blend of continental jazz, swing and gypsy music.

A group of Three Lakes High School students recently investigated the world of diesel engines during a tour of the FABCO?facility in Oshkosh.
The career exploration activity allowed students to get a close-up view of the program, which offers students the opportunity to become certified Caterpillar technicians.
Students learned about the skills and commitment it takes to become a diesel-certified technician.

Three Lakes Elementary School will host the Story Laboratory Scholastic Book Fair Monday, Feb. 11, from 1 to 7 p.m. and from Tuesday to Friday, Feb. 12-15, from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. daily.
The book fair will be held in the elementary school instructional media center (IMC). Students and families can shop during recess.
Forty percent of sales will go directly toward purchasing books for the IMC and student

The Three Lakes community is organizing weekly pickleball games in the small gymnasium of the high school.
Anyone interested may attend the school between 7:30 and 9 p.m. Tuesday nights.
Plans are in process to move pickleball to Don Burnside Park during the warmer months.

Sugar Camp Elementary School recently held Club Day, which began years ago in an effort to strengthen the bond between school and community.
Club leaders from the community volunteered their time to give students experiences they may not have within the normal curriculum. During this time, club leaders also became acquainted with school staff and built connections that could lead to other activities.
