Bus to transport seniors

Seniors 55 and older and adults with disabilities can reserve a seat on the Forest County bus traveling to Rhine­­lander via Three Lakes and Sugar Camp Wednesday, Aug. 13.

The lift-equipped bus will originate in Crandon and make stops in Argonne and Hiles before stopping in Three Lakes at approxi­mately 8:15 a.m.

Wingspan to perform at Concerts in the Park

The Three Lakes Historical Society will welcome the band Wingspan to make a debut performance at the Concerts in the Park music series Tuesday, July 22, at 7 p.m. at the Cy Williams Park gazebo.

Used book sale slated

The Friends of Demmer Library will hold a used book sale Saturday, July 26, from 9 a.m. to noon in the lower level of the library, located on West School Street in Three Lakes.

“Our Fourth of July sale was very successful this year,” said Sarah Ewing, president of the Friends of Demmer Library. “The Friends want to thank everyone who supported us by donating or purchasing books at the sale.”

With the exception of June, the book sales are held on the fourth Saturday of each month.

Donations of gently used books (not more that 15 years old), both fiction and nonfiction, are always needed and may be dropped off at the library.

Living History Encounter slated at museum July 26

The Three Lakes Genea­logical Society and Three Lakes Historical Museum will host a Living History Encounter Saturday, July 26, on the grounds of the Three Lakes Historical Museum, located at 1798 Huron St.

Shakespeare Project to present ‘As You Like It’ this Saturday

A traveling troupe of thespians will visit Three Lakes this Saturday, July 19, at 7:30 p.m. at the Three Lakes Center For the Arts.

The Three Lakes Shakespeare Project will present the bard’s comic masterpiece, “As You Like It” in a staged reading featuring alumni, students and faculty from the University of Illinois-Chicago.
