The Three Lakes Lions Club staged its annual Pancake Breakfast July Fourth, a fundraiser that helps defray costs for the half-dozen marching bands that appear in the club’s huge Fourth of July parade each year. Aqua Devils Ski Club to hold spaghetti dinner

The Three Lakes Aqua Devils Waterski Club will hold its annual spaghetti dinner fundraiser Sunday, July 13, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Mai Tiki Bar & Grill located at 1021 Highway 32 in Three Lakes.

Tickets for the all-you-care-to-eat spaghetti dinner will cost $10 per adult and $8 for those 6-12. Youth 5 and younger will eat free of charge.

That afternoon, the team also will sponsor a shotgun golf tournament at Big Stone Golf Course.

Kovak to present program ‘Discover the Night Sky’

Frank Kovak, owner of the Kovak Planetarium in Monico, will present a program called “Discover the Night Sky” Wednesday, July 16, at 6:30 p.m. at the Three Lakes Center for the Arts in the Northwoods.

The program will demonstrate how to locate constellations which are visible during this time of the year. Kovac also will talk about how he built the world’s largest mechanical globe planetarium.

After the program, attendees will be eligible for a prize drawing to win a pair of tickets to visit the planetarium.

Area community band to perform at gazebo

The Three Lakes Historical Society’s Concerts in the Park series will continue Tuesday, July 15, with the Rhinelander Area Community Band at the Cy Williams Park gazebo at 7 p.m.

The Rhinelander Area Community Band is a non­audition community band that rehearses in Rhine­lander.
