Ski show season

Legion to hold pot roast dinner

The Three Lakes American Legion will hold a beef pot roast dinner Saturday, June 21, from 5 to 6:30 p.m.

The dinner will include beef pot roast with all the trimmings, coffee and dessert for a cost of $8.

Car, Boat show scheduled for August in Three Lakes

The eighth annual Three Lakes Car and Boat Show will be held later than usual this year, as organizer Ed Jacobsen has scheduled the show for Saturday, Aug. 2, starting at 10:30 a.m. at the Petroleum Museum on Highway 45 just north of Three Lakes.

Jacobsen said the unpredictable weather in June has impacted shows in the past and he hopes the August date will be more favorable to the beautiful cars and boats starring at the show.

He has added vintage boats to the show this year

Three Lakes history
On behalf of the Three Lakes Historical Society, museum curators Alan Tulppo and Kyle McMahon co-authored a pictorial history of Three Lakes. The recently released book, “Images of America-Three Lakes,” contains images and photographs depicting Three Lakes as it has grown throughout the years. Health Dept. hosts seventh bike rodeo

The Oneida County Health Department hosted its seventh bike rodeo last week at the Rhinelander Walmart parking lot for 200 families.

Children from all over Oneida County peddled in to the rodeo, which was designed to teach youth bicycle safety skills through a series of six obstacle courses:  Security Parking and Licenses, Demon Driveway, Crazy Crossroads, Who’s There/Scan to Your Rear, Rock Dodge, Balance and Quick Stop.
