Area businesses to have sales for Presidents Day weekend PDF Print E-mail

Sayner area businesses  Rustic Rivers, Traditions and GreenWeavers have teamed up to promote and bring shoppers to Sayner for the Presidents Day weekend, Friday, Saturday and Sunday,  Feb 14-16.
There will be 30% off storewide and up to 70% off select items.
“Discover what others are saying about shopping in Sayner,” said a Rustic Rivers representative.

Elementary school holds Color Day
Winners of the annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest were announced at the St. Germain Elementary School Color Day Jan 29. Winners in their respective grade levels included, from left, Colby Kruse, Sami Huelskamp, Karson Thomas, Emma Weber, Karlin Williams and Jaydin Ellias. The posters will be forwarded to the Firefighters Association for regional fire prevention poster judging. Winners will go on to the State competition. Students at St. Germain Elementary School participated in their quarterly Color Day Celebration Jan. 29.
Color Day aims to promote good behavior, dedicated learning and academic discovery at home and school.
The activities at the event included the Pledge of Allegiance; the singing of the national anthem; awarding of reading, math and grade-level learning awards and achievements; the announcement of Hot Reads winners who get to go to lunch at Knocker’s Pizza Company in a fire truck; perfect attendance awards;

Community volunteers gather for Mid-Winter Family Night

Jan. 19 marked the annual Mid-Winter Family Night gathering of the St. Germain Volunteer Rescue and Fire Department at the fire station.

Take Your Child to the Library Day scheduled Saturday, Feb. 1

The Plum Lake Public Library in Sayner announced its upcoming events.

The library will participate in Take Your Child to the Library Day Saturday, Feb. 1, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be free books and giveaways for any child accompanied by a parent or caregiver.

“Way Up North,” a preschool story hour, will be held Wednesday, Feb. 5, at 10 a.m. at Plum Lake Library. The event will include stories, activities and crafts geared toward 3-5 year olds.

Saturday, Feb. 8, will feature a Superhero Training Academy at 11 a.m. Children will be given an opportunity to test their powers and earn a superhero ID badge.
