Street fair held Aug. 3

Even with a loud clap of thunder and heavy rain, the first annual Sayner Street Fair held at the town park in Sayner Aug. 3 went on as scheduled.

The street fair featured live music all afternoon and into the evening, as well as crafts and food. Local merchants were also open for business during the fair.

Pig in the Pines

Fire department slates spaghetti dinner Aug. 11

The Plum Lake Volunteer Fire Department will host its 27th annual spaghetti dinner Monday, Aug. 11, at the Say­ner community building from 5 to 8 p.m. Tickets will be available at the door.

The dinner will include spaghetti with meat sauce, salad, garlic bread and ice cream. There will also be a meatless sauce option available.

Dinners cost $12.50, and dinners for children ages 12 and younger will cost $6. Wine and beer will be available for purchase. Carryouts will also be available.

Proceeds from this event will be used to upgrade the department’s John Deere Gator

Vilas Historical Museum sets chicken dinner Aug. 9

The Vilas County Historical Museum in Sayner will host a chicken dinner Saturday, Aug. 9, at the Sayner community building and pavilion from 4 to 6:30 p.m.

The cost will be $10 per ticket. Tickets are available for purchase at the museum, located at 2889 Highway 155 in Sayner.
