St. Germain Chamber hires new events coordinator

The board of directors of the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce recently an­nounced that Josie Nolte has been hired as the new events coordinator.

“For many years I have enjoyed visiting and living in the beautiful North Woods,” said Nolte. “I’m very excited to be working for the chamber, sharing my interests with visitors and promoting what this area has to offer.  I look forward to the opportunities and challenges ahead.”

Nolte has served as the purchasing director at Lake Forest College in Lake Forest, Ill.,

Chamber names Wiesmann new executive director

The Board of Directors of the St. Germain Chamber of Commerce has appointed Penny Wiesmann as its new executive director, effective Jan. 2.

Wiesmann comes from Fort Atkinson, bringing with her more than 12 years of marketing and business experience, most recently working for Cygnus Business Media as the marketing manager for numerous publications and associations.

Berg receives hotel award

IDM Group LLC, a hotel management and development firm headquartered in Madison with properties around the Midwest, announced that Rosanne Berg of the Black Bear Lodge in St. Germain won its Heart of Hospitality award. The awards are given to each of its hotels.

Berg is a room attendant at Black Bear Lodge in St. Germain, and has been with the property for just over a year. Heart of Hospitality award recipients are nominated by fellow employees for the honor, which recognizes individuals who have exceeded expectations of hospitality and professionalism.

An executive committee at each IDM-managed property selects the winner from among the nominees.

Christmas program
Sunday school children at St. Germain Community United Church of Christ had a dress rehearsal Dec. 13 for their “A Super Christmas” program held Dec. 15. The program featured Iron Man, Incredible Hulk, Spider Man, Mary, Joseph, shepherds and an angel, all played by children of the church’s Sunday School. Julie Bohnen and Judy Waldmann were the directors of the program. The program included simple dance steps and contemporary Christmas music. The storyline revolved around who would save the world, super heroes or baby Jesus. The children re-enacted the birth of Jesus which aimed to prove that Jesus was the true savior of the world. The cast included, front row from left, Emma Bacon as Mary; Zander Broomfield as Joseph; shepherds Cody Vojta, Sam Nampel and Chloe Moran; second row, Nicholas Bohnen as Spiderman, Emma Weber as Bat Girl, Jacob Nampel as Spiderman and Grace Weber as an angel; third row, Brandon Bacon as Batman, Milton Verseman as Incredible Hulk and Zachary Ritter as Thor; back row, narrators Carlie Homman and Lizzy Gauthier, and Jason Ritter as Iron Man.
