Winter carnival PDF Print E-mail
Phelps School/Community Committee recently sponsored the 10th annual Winter Carnival in the school gymnasium. More than 200 children and adults took part in the food, games and entertainment. The event also included live music by Popular Girl Band, and a chili/soup cookoff and dessert cook-off. All events were open to the public and there was no charge for admission. Snomo club sets brat fry

The Phelps Snowmobile Club will hold a trailside brat fry Saturday, Feb. 15, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the intersection of trails 45N and 6W.
Brats, hot dogs, beverages and cookies will be available.
“Warm your toes and hands around the bonfire while being entertained with live music,” said an event spokesperson.

Woman’s club sets meeting PDF Print E-mail

Multiple 10-foot by 10-foot spaces are now available for crafters at the third annual Phelps Maple Syrup Fest Craft Show, slated for Saturday, April 5, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Phelps School. Phelps sanitary publishes notice

Due to the extreme cold weather, the Phelps Sanitary District recommends that all water customers continuously trickle water 24 hours per day until further notice.
Only one faucet trickling water about a pencil lead in diameter is necessary.
Every utility customer will get credit for trickling water.

After competing in the 28th annual Great Northern Ice Fishing Tournament on Lac Vieux Desert in Phelps, anglers and their guests, totaling more than 220 people, attended dinner and an awards ceremony at the Derby Track in Eagle River. Blindfolded snowmobile event raises funds for local scholarship

The second annual blindfolded snowmobile race  re­cently was held at The Great Escape Bar and Restaurant in Phelps and raised a total of $500 for the Ken and Peto Buell Memorial Scholarship Fund.
Event organizer Cindy Regozzi said another fundraising event is in the works for May, as she’d like to get the scholarship up to $1,000.
Ten racers competed in the event, which featured snowmobile drivers with blindfolded helmets being directed by nonblindfolded passengers by way of shoulder taps.

Wounded Warriors set banquet Sunday

Wounded Warriors In Action will hold its third annual fundraiser banquet at Holiday Lodge and Supper Club in Phelps Sunday, Feb. 9, from 1 to 5 p.m.
The event will be coordinated by Debbie and Robin Vold, along with Karen and Scott Spurgeon.
Tickets cost $50 for a couple and $30 for a single and may be purchased at the Phelps or Eagle River branch of First National Bank of Eagle River, The Tackle Box in Land O’ Lakes and Holiday Lodge.

Women’s club donates $3,000 in festival proceeds to library

The Phelps Women’s Club recently donated $3,000 to the Phelps Public Library, using proceeds generated by the club’s annual Scarecrow Fest.

The donation sparked library officials to publicly acknowledge the ongoing and long-term support provided by the Phelps Women’s Club.

“Through continued financial and moral support, the Phelps Women’s Club has played an integral role in the expansion and growth of the library, even during hard economic times,”
