New plow truck
The Phelps town shop recently took delivery of a 2014 Peterbilt patrol plow truck. It’s equipped with a stainless-steel box and fenders on the back. The $150,000 truck was custom built to town specifications with a sander and plow box at Truck Equipment Inc. in Wausau. The fleet was upgraded from four to five trucks. The other trucks are between 14 and 25 years old. Town shop foreman Jerry Grasse said the truck should save taxpayers money in the long run due to the long-life, corrosion-resistant stainless-steel options. —Photo By Sharon Gifford
