Steak fry
The Phelps Lions Club tickets to its steak fry sold out for the second straight year, as 450 guests participated in the meal at the 18th annual event at Wavering Park. Live entertainment was provided by the Bill Hassey Orchestra and 50/50 drawings were held throughout the dinner. Club Treasurer Brian Blank said the success of the event was due to the support from the Phelps community, surrounding communities and donations from the Mendham family at Sunrise Lodge, Barry Mohr at the Phelps Convenience Center and other individual donations. The event was coordinated by club members Dennis Konieczka and Mike McAdams. Event proceeds fund local scholarships for area students, the Headwaters Food Pantry, various local charities and Lions Club projects. —Photo By Sharon Gifford
