Northwoods Living Care sets 17th Picnic in Park

Northwoods Living Care Foundation Inc. will sponsor the 17th annual Picnic in the Park Tuesday, July 8, from 5 to 8:30 p.m. at Wavering Park in Phelps.

Proceeds from the event will benefit the town of Phelps ambulance fund.

The meal will include a chicken and rib barbecue, baked beans, potato salad, fresh fruit and homemade dessert.

Music will be provided by The Hits and a bounce house

Rosner serves as representative for Phelps at Badger Boys State

Phelps High School student Robert Rosner recently was named the Phelps Badger State Boy representative and was sponsored by the Phelps Booster Club.

Badger Boys State was held at Ripon College. Badger Boys State may be described as a program which teaches the workings of government by doing, but it’s more than that, according to organizers.

Women’s club plans meeting

The Phelps Women’s Club will meet at Big Sand Lake Club Monday, July 21, at 1 p.m.

Hostesses will be Big Sand Lake Club members. Items on the agenda include the results of the chicken dinner and Scarecrow Fest.

Teen award

Scholarship winners
The Phelps Women’s Club recently awarded academic scholarships to three area residents.
