Conover-Land O' Lakes
Bicycle event
About 300 people participated in last weekend’s Ride with Leinie in Land O’ Lakes. Friday’s activities included two rides for fat tire bikes, followed by a welcome corn roast at Brew’s Pub in downtown Land O’ Lakes. Two rides were offered Saturday beginning at Forest Lake Country Store, one of which was led by Dick and Jean Leinenkugel. A raffle featured items donated by Forest Lake Country Store, Miller Beer of the Northwoods and Wilderness Lakes Trail Inc. It culminated with one lucky participant going home with a Leinenkugel’s Old Town canoe. Proceeds from the benefit will go toward the continuing development of the Wilderness Lakes Trail biking and pedestrian trail system. When completed, the trail will be a 40-mile loop connecting Watersmeet, Mich., and Land O’ Lakes and encircling the Sylvania Wilderness Area.
