LOLA accepting entries for fiber art exhibition


Threads Through Time II, a fiber art display, will be presented at Ely Memorial Church in Land O’ Lakes Saturday, Sept. 21.

Fiber artists are welcome to exhibit their creations. Possible items to exhibit include old and new quilts; hooked, braided, or penny rugs; woven, crocheted or knitted items; and other fiber creations.

Meeting set on room tax PDF Print E-mail

There will be a public informational meeting at the Land O’ Lakes Town Hall Tuesday, April 9, at 6 p.m. regarding the possibility of a room tax to be charged by town of Land O’ Lakes area lodging facilities.

This meeting is an opportunity to explore the pros and cons, answer questions, and share information with everyone. This meeting is open to the public and everyone is welcome.

Town to hold Easter event PDF Print E-mail

Land O’ Lakes welcomes all local and visiting children to its 2013 Easter celebration Saturday, March 30, at 10 a.m., with an egg hunt at 10:30 a.m. at the Land O’ Lakes Elementary School.

Sponsored by Land O’ Lakes Parks and Recreation and the Land O’ Lakes Library, the egg hunt will be held outdoors. Included in the event will be crafts, games and a visit from the Easter bunny.

Nicolet to hold workshop

Nicolet College will hold a workforce and economic development workshop called Explore Starting a Business at the Land O’ Lakes Chamber of Commerce building Wednesday, March 20 from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m.

This free workshop will provide answers to questions and get participants connected to the people and resources that can help them succeed.

Participants will learn three must-do’s to launch a business and keep it running, reasons why having a business plan is critical to success, insights and experiences of successful local entrepreneurs and small business owners, and information about the new E-Seed™

Sno-Buddies fundraiser

Kids Ice Fishing Jamboree draws 117 participants to Lac Vieux Desert

The 17th annual Land O’ Lakes Kids Ice Fishing Jamboree was held recently off the west shore of Lac Vieux Desert with 117 children, 18 years old and younger, participating.

Bent’s sets party for St. Paddy’s PDF Print E-mail

Bent’s Camp will host its second annual St. Paddy’s Mustache Bash Saturday, March 16.

Everyone is welcome to celebrate by wearing green. The event will feature live Celtic music by the McGees and specials include 50% off beer and food while it lasts.

In addition, Bent’s Camp will close Sunday, March 17, and reopen Tuesday, March 26.

Spay-neuter clinic set March 28 at town hall

The Fix Is In’s spay and neuter clinic will be held at the Conover Town Hall Thursday, March 28. Fees for cats start at $40, dogs at $85.

There are no income requirements and pets do not stay overnight. Included with the spay or neuter surgery for cats and dogs is a free rabies vaccination, nail trim and ear cleaning (all as needed). The clinic staff  includes a state-licensed veterinarian and a state-certified veterinary technician.

Fundraiser set to benefit trails PDF Print E-mail

Club 45 in Conover will host its annual St. Patrick’s Day dinner to benefit the Conover Sno-Buddies trail system Sunday, March 17 at 4 p.m.

The event will feature  corned beef, cabbage, roasted vegetables and dessert, followed by raffles. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children, with all the proceeds going to maintain the Conover trail system.
