Peggy Waldron named Relay’s honorary survivor

Margaret Waldron, known as Peggy to most of her family and friends, will serve as the honorary survivor at the 2014 Northwoods Relay For Life in Eagle River.

This year’s fundraising event for the American Cancer Society will be Friday, June 20, at the Northland Pines High School track in Eagle River.

Waldron was born and raised in Conover. She went to college, became a nurse,

Fishing Has No Boundaries draws 66 anglers, 90 volunteers

Hansen requests Vietnam vets join in parade

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce & Visitors Center is pleased to announced that this year’s Fourth of July parade marshal is Dick Hansen of Eagle River.

Sunn Meshigaud arrested for oxycodone distribution

MADISON?—?U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Wisconsin John W. Vaudreuil has announced that Charlie Sunn Meshigaud, 25, of Lac du Flambeau was arrested last week in Appleton by the U.S. Marshals Service.

This is the second arrest of Sunn Meshigaud.

On April 2, a federal grand jury sitting in Madison returned a nine-count indictment against Sunn Meshigaud and Andrew Meshigaud, 28, alleging that they distributed oxycodone in Lac du Flambeau from January to June 2013.

Sunn Meshigaud was arrested in Milwaukee on April 24

The Three Lakes School District bid farewell last week to two of its staff members who have dedicated a total of 80 years to working with students.

Teaching assistant Vicky Sherry and band director Richard Gonitzke each had 40 years in education.

Nicolet College to host lakes conference June 13

Nicolet Area Technical College will host a six-county lake conference Friday, June 13, with registration at 8:30 a.m. and the program at 9 a.m.

The conference will include educational presentations as well as networking time.

Those who own a lake property or who find lakes interesting are welcome to attend.

The conference is co-sponsored by the Oneida County Lakes

Bridge inspections reported to Three Lakes Town Board

The Three Lakes Town Board heard bridge updates on Burnt Rollways, Nine Mile and Seven Mile from a Wisconsin Valley Improvement Company (WVIC) representative at its meeting last week.

Peter Hansen of WVIC said the company hired a consultant to inspect the three bridges as they were due for a review.
