Pat Kiley joins Owl’s Nest?Realty

Owl’s Nest Realty of Eagle River broker and owner Inge Knauz recently announced that Pat Kiley has completed the real estate-licensing course and is now working as a sales agent.

“Kiley comes out of retirement with a strong knowledge of real estate having worked about 36 years in banking, most of those as a real estate mortgage lender and manager,” said Knauz.

She also served as the Northwoods Association of Realtors association executive for a couple of years during which time she helped establish the current Multiple Listing Service.

Kiley has lived most of her life in Eagle River and has three grown children who have also settled in the area and four grandchildren.

Counseling available for small businesses

A counselor from the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) at UW-Stevens Point will be in Eagle River, by appointment only, Tuesday, April 8.

Confidential business counseling is available without charge to current or prospective small-business operators on issues ranging from financial management to sources of capital.

The SBDC staff member will meet clients at the Vilas County UW-Extension office in the courthouse, located at 330 Court St. in Eagle River, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Servant Leader Awards
Trig’s of Eagle River recently honored its Servant Leader award recipients for 2014 during a program in the store. Presque Isle home destroyed in fire

A home in Presque Isle was destroyed in a fire last Wednesday, according to the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office.

Authorities received a report of the fire at 8130 S. Bay View Road at approximately 11 p.m.

The Presque Isle Fire Department responded to the structure fire with the assistance of the Winchester Fire Department,?Manitowish Waters Fire Department, Boulder?Junction?Fire Department and Excel Energy.
