James ‘Jim’ Mazeika

James “Jim” Mazeika, formerly of Fountain, Mich., and a resident of Eagle River,  died Friday, April 4, 2014, in Eagle River. He was 63.

Mr. Mazeika was born  June 5, 1950, in Ludington, Mich., to Matthew and Veronica (nee Kava) Mazeika.

His interests included  visiting with his friends and family.

Robert ‘Bob’ G. Lietzau

Robert “Bob” G. Lietzau, age 87, formerly of Pewaukee, Wis., and a resident of Conover, Wis., since 1997, died Tuesday, April 1, 2014, at Seasons of Life Hospice in Woodruff, Wis.

Bob was born Feb. 12, 1927, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Clarence and Mildred Lietzau.

He worked as a tool and die maker for many years. He learned his trade through his father.

Bob enjoyed viewing and feeding

Lee Roy McConnell

On 1 April, 2014, Lee Roy McCon­nell, son of Leroy Men­a­due (Ky.) and Neva Ritchie (Neb.), passed away peacefully at the Palo Alto Veterans Medical Center in Palo Alto, Calif. He was 81 years old.

Lee is survived by his son, Timothy; and daughters, Erin, Andrea and Meighan (and cat, Tucker).

He was a veteran of the Korean and Vietnam wars. In Korea, he served with the U.S. Marine Corps with honors.

Rose ‘DeRosso’ Obrodovich

Rose “De­Rosso” Obro­do­vich passed away March 31, 2014, at Hospice of the Valley, Ryan House in Phoenix, Ariz., at the age of 91.

Rose was born March 20, 1923, in Hurley, Wis.

She married Mike Obro­do­vich in 1939, and had two sons who survive her. Mike and Rose moved to Eagle River, Wis., in 1945, where Mike owned and operated Lakeland Motors Ford that has remained in the family for 70 years.

Dona Richter

Dona Richter, age 81, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on April 6, 2014.

She is survived by her loving husband of 63 years, Ed; son, Guy (Terry) of Rye, Colo., and daughter Gail (Tom) Kuklinski of Hayward, Wis.; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and one sister, Margery Payne-Schlinder.

Dona was the youngest of five children. She lost her father and oldest brother when she was 11 years old. They scratched out a living on their homestead farm on Croker Road.

Michael ‘Mike’ F. Brickey

Michael “Mike” F. Brickey, age 63, a resident of Winter, Wis., went to meet the Lord on Friday, March 28, 2014.

He was born on March 16, 1951, in Rhinelander, Wis., the son of Ralph and Ethel (Swett) Brickey and he was raised in Eagle River, Wis.

Mike was one of those rare people in this world that would light up a room when he walked in.  His larger than life personality and heart that loved unconditionally, touched many lives with his music, love of the outdoors and devotion to his family and friends.

Laura Bueschel

Laura Bueschel, age 68, of Wau­sau, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014, at St. Clare’s Hospital.

Laura was born in Rhinelander on Sept. 13, 1945, to the late John and Catherine (Stevens) Becraft.

Laura enjoyed time spent with her grandkids. She taught them how to play guitar and piano. She was a lover of music, and could make a guitar pick out of a credit card.

She also loved camping, card games and board games.  Laura was a faithful person who enjoyed a good debate and finding a good bargain.

Janice Caroline Funk

Janice Caroline (née Huff) Funk died Monday, March 17, 2014, in Kingsford, Mich. She was 88.

Mrs. Funk was born Aug. 14, 1925, in Crandon, the daughter of James C. and Beulah (née Brigham) Huff.

She graduated both early and at the top of her class (seven students) from Elvoy School.

C.P. ‘Paul’ Gay

Paul Gay, of Sugar Camp, Wis., passed away Friday, March 28, 2014, in York, S.C.  Paul was 88.

He was born April 22, 1925, in Midville, Ga., the son of the late Algie “Bill” and Maude Gay.

A veteran of World War II, Paul enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served from January 1943 through April 1946.

After serving his country, he settled in Chicago, Ill.,

Mary Jane Gen­s­ler, age 83, a lifelong resident of Three Lakes, Wis., died Saturday, March 29, 2014, at her home.

She was born Jan. 17, 1931, to Bill and Laura Paremski.

She was raised in Three Lakes and graduated from Three Lakes High School in 1949.
