He is survived by two sisters, Rachel and Jennete; a brother, Art; two sons, Gene and Jim; three grandchildren, Brian, Steve and Leda; and three great-grandchildren.

Gary Goodness, age 69, a resident of Conover, Wis., since 2005, formerly of Wiscon­sin Rap­ids, Wis., died Saturday, July 5, 2014, in Laona, Wis.

He was born Dec. 30, 1944, in Nekoosa, Wis., to Glen and Alvina Goodness.

Gary graduated in 1963, from Assumption High School in Wisconsin Rapids. He then attended North Central Technical College before joining the Marine Corps where he served in Vietnam.

Penny Lee Kaufmann of St. Germain died Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at her residence. She was 56.

Ms. Kaufmann was born Aug. 25, 1957, in Hinsdale, Ill., the daughter of William and Helen (née McCrady) Kaufmann.

Jerome E. Maney ‘Jake,’ ‘Papa’

Jerome E. Maney, age 79, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014, at his home in Sugar Camp, Wis., in the arms of his loving family.

Jerry was born April 29, 1935, in Three Lakes, Wis., to his parents, Peter and Florence (Patrick) Maney. He grew up with his 15 brothers and sisters, and countless friends in Three Lakes.

He graduated from Three Lakes High School, class of 1953.

He served the United States of America as a member of the U.S. Army

William ‘Bill’ Powers

William “Bill” Powers of Eagle River died Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home. He was 79.

Mr. Powers was born January 12, 1935, in Tennessee to William and Bonnie Powers.

He was raised on a share cropper farm in Arkansas and Tennessee, and moved to Milwaukee, where he worked at A.O. Smith, then Godfrey Food Chain.
