Lois M. Elliott

Lois M. Elliott of Sugar Camp died Wednesday, June 18, 2014, at her home. She was 86.

Mrs. Elliott was born Nov. 7, 1927, in Rockford, Ill., the daughter of Paul and Alice (née Comstock) Grenke.

She was raised and attended schools in Rockford where she met and married Ken Elliott in 1946.

The couple moved to Sugar Camp in 1962,

Brian Jovanovic

Brian Jovanovic, age 34, a lifelong resident of Eagle River, Wis., died Sunday, June 22, 2014, in Marshfield, Wis.

He was born Jan. 4, 1980, in Rhinelander, to Pete and Lyn (Seyfert) Jovanovic.

Brian graduated from Northland Pines High School in 1998, where he played football.

Daniel R. ‘Dano’ Kauzlaric

Daniel R. “Dano” Kauzlaric, age 55, a lifelong resident of the North Woods, lost his courageous battle with cancer Friday, June 20, 2014, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

Dan was born April 24, 1959, in Milwaukee, Wis., to Fredrick and Arlene (Zekich) Kauzlaric. His family moved to the North Woods shortly after he was born.

Dan attended St. Peter’s Elementary and Eagle River Union High School, graduating in 1977. He wrestled and played golf during his school years.

William E. Powers

William E. Powers of Eagle River died Monday, June 23, 2014, at his home. He was 79.

A memorial service will be held Saturday, June 28, at noon at Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River.  Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Marlowe Parklin Burgy

Marlowe Parklin Bur­gy, age 94, died June 1, 2014, at Eagle River, Wis., following a short illness.

Marlowe was born on Nov. 29, 1919, at the family farmstead in Conroy, Iowa, to John and Anna (Furler) Burgy.

He was raised on the family farm and when he was only 2, his father died from injuries received when the entire family was involved in the first fatal automobile accident in Iowa County.
