Woman receives probation, fine
for keeping drug trafficking place

A 39-year-old Lac du Flambeau woman pleaded no contest and was found guilty of maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of marijuana in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Sylana Mendez had two charges of possession with intent to deliver marijuana and two other charges of maintaining a drug trafficking place and possession of drug paraphernalia dismissed in the plea agreement.

St. Germain man to make plea
on strangulation charge Feb. 11

A 61-year-old St. Germain charged with attempted strangulation and suffocation had a plea hearing set for Feb. 11 at 3:15 p.m. in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

John A. Price also is charged with misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct. All three charges come with a domestic abuse en­hancer.

According to the complaint, Price was arrested Feb. 26 in St. Germain after he became upset over a medical bill and allegedly at­tempted to strangle a woman at her home.

Then July 23, 2013, Price was charged with two counts of felony bail jumping, misdemeanor battery and disorderly conduct.
