Man who caused Hwy. 155 accident
sentenced to three years in prison

A 38-year-old Bowler man who caused an accident that injured four people in St. Germain Jan. 20 was sentenced to three years in the Wisconsin Prison System in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Asa V. Doxtator, convicted of two counts of operating while intoxicated causing injury, was sentenced to six years in the Wisconsin Prison System, including three years of initial confinement and three years of extended supervision.

Conditions of Doxtator’s extended supervision in­clude fined $2,000 on each count, driver’s license re­voked for two years, alcohol and other drug abuse  (AODA)?assessment, ignition interlock device for two years, restitution to be determined and not to possess

Man who caused accident, injuries 
to serve two years in prison system

A 26-year-old Lac du Flambeau man who caused an accident while driving while intoxicated and injured several other people was sentenced two years in the Wisconsin Prison System in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

James A. Johnson III pleaded no contest and was found guilty of operating while intoxicated causing injury, second and subsequent offense, and operating while intoxicated causing injury. Two other charges of operating while intoxicated causing injury were dismissed but read in for sentencing by Vilas Circuit Judge Neal A. Nielsen III.

Four counts of operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration, causing injury, one count of second-offense operating  while intoxicated, one count of operating with a prohibited alcohol concentration and one count of operating a motor vehicle while revoked were dismissed.

Judge Nielsen sentenced Johnson to five years

Conover man gets probation
for theft of business checks

A 24-year-old Conover man had his sentence withheld and he was placed on probation for 18 months after pleading no contest to amended charges of misdemeanor theft of moveable property under $2,500 and disorderly conduct in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Benjamin J. Otterpohl-Rosinski was originally charged with two counts of  forgery and two counts of uttering a forgery.  One count of forgery and one count of uttering a forgery were dismissed, but read in at sentencing for restitution.
