Man pleads not guilty to charges
from June crash that injured six

A?44-year-old Lac du Flambeau man, charged with intoxicated use of a vehicle, causing great bodily harm, and 12 other charges following a one-vehicle accident in June, was bound over and entered a plea of not guilty in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Richard G. Allen was allegedly driving a vehicle at more than 100 miles per hour, with four girls in the backseat, when it crashed into several trees June 28 in Lac du Flambeau. Six people were injured in the crash, including one person who was taken by helicopter to St. Joseph’s Hospital in Marshfield.

A pretrial conference for Allen was set for Aug. 20

Two Lac du Flambeau women
face revocation of deferment

A 49-year-old Lac du Flambeau woman, who a year ago pleaded guilty and had a deferred entry of judgement (DEJ) entered for a charge of misdemeanor battery, will learn by Sept. 2 if Vilas County District Attorney Albert Moustakis will make a motion to revoke her DEJ.

Marcella Wayman was charged with possession of an illegally-obtained prescription drug, a misdemeanor, April 5. She has a plea and sentencing hearing for that charge Aug. 26 at 1:30 p.m.

Two enter not guilty pleas
in prescription drug case

A Lac du Flambeau woman and a Boulder Junction man pleaded not guilty to charges of possession with intent to deliver prescription drugs in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Barbara T. Maloney, 33, of Lac du Flambeau, and Thomas J. Meehan, 47, of Boulder Junction, entered not guilty pleas to the charges. Her pretrial conference was set for Aug. 6 at 11:30 a.m. and his will be the same day at 11:45 a.m.

According to the complaint, Meehan told law enforcement officers
