Woman charged in connection
to drug raid pleads not guilty

A 46-year-old Eagle River, woman charged in connection with a drug raid east of Eagle River May 19 waived her right to a preliminary hearing in Vilas County Circuit Court Monday and entered pleas of not guilty to two felony counts and two misdemeanor counts.

Deanna Worthen entered her pleas after Circuit Judge Neal A. Nielsen III?found sufficient factual basis for the felony charges of maintaining a drug trafficking place, contributing to the delinquency of a minor and misdemeanor charges of possession of marijuana and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Eagle River man bound over
for delivering money to inmate

A 19-year-old Eagle River man, charged with delivery of illegal articles to an inmate and obstructing an officer, was bound over after probable cause was found he had committed a crime in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.

Joseph R. Johnson pleaded not guilty and a pretrial conference was set for Aug. 19 at 10:45 a.m.

According to the complaint, Johnson allegedly gave money to Todd Brecht between Sept. 23, 2013, and Oct. 1, 2013, while Brecht was inmate at Camp McNaughton and working at the St. Germain Golf Course.

Johnson allegedly receiv­ed $5,000 from Shirley Brecht,
