Man who injured others
gets extended supervision

A 45-year-old Lac du Flambeau man who crashed the vehicle he was driving while intoxicated into a tree last June, injuring six people,  was sentenced to five years in the Wisconsin Prison System in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.
Richard G. Allen, who was operating the vehicle, will serve the prison sentence on extended supervision, Vilas Circuit Judge Neal A. Nielsen III ruled. Nielsen also sentenced Allen to the county jail for one year.
Allen pleaded guilty to one count of intoxicated use of a vehicle causing great bodily harm, one count of first degree recklessly endangering safety, one count of recklessly endangering safety, and one count of causing injury operating while intoxicated. Nine other charges were dismissed, but read-in at sentencing.

Eagle River man, 36, charged for delivering money to inmate

A 36-year-old Eagle River man was charged for delivering money and a telephone to a man who escaped from Camp McNaughton Prison in 2013 in Vilas County Circuit Court last week.
Wayne Gordy-Daniels, charged with delivery of illegal articles to an inmate,  had a preliminary hearing last Thursday and Vilas Circuit Judge Neal A. Nielsen III set his arraignment for Feb. 10 at 9 a.m.
According to the complaint, Gordy-Daniels was allegedly involved in money transactions from March 23, 2013, and Oct. 1, 2013, between a woman and Todd Brecht, an escaped inmate from Camp McNaughton Oct. 1, 2013, while he was working at the St. Germain Golf Course.
