Vilas County Sheriff
A total of 229 complaints were entered by Vilas County Sheriff’s Department dispatchers last week.
The department reported at least 14 vehicle accidents, two requests for an ambulance, three animal problems, five requests for agency assistance, seven burglar alarms, one burglary, one request for citizen assistance, one domestic violence complaint, one instance of found property, five cases of fraud, two hit-and-runs, one lost person, two reports of lost property, two weapons offenses, four reports of hazardous conditions, five juvenile problems/runaways, one fire, two reports of criminal damage to property, one abandoned vehicle, three disturbances, two reports of suspicious circumstances, two thefts, 11 traffic violations, two vacation checks, three welfare checks, 10 911 hang-ups, one ATV?problem and three drug problems.
At least seven calls were referred to the Eagle River Police Department and there were at least 20 informational or procedural entries.
In the past week, at least one person was booked at the Vilas County Jail for operating after revocation.
During the week, the inmate population ranged from 70 to 78. As of Oct. 21, there were 78 inmates.
