Youth soccer begins fall registration PDF Print E-mail

The Headwaters Youth Soccer Association-United (HYSA) will begin its fall 2013 recreational soccer online registration Wednesday, May 1, for all players entering four-year-old kindergarten through eighth grade in the Eagle River area.

The cost per player is $35, plus a $35 field fee per family.

For the fall 2013 season, competitive tournament teams will be formed — by age not grade — from interested fall registrants. An additional fee will be charged and tryouts may be necessary.

Fundraiser set for soccer group

The Headwaters Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) United will hold a chicken and spaghetti fundraiser dinner at Eagle Waters Monday, May 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner cost $12 for adults and $8 for youths ages 5 to 17. Children younger than 4 will eat free of charge.

Tickets are available from any HYSA-United soccer

The Phelps High School softball team will look to improve on last season’s 4-10 record as it returns nine letterwinners to the field in 2013.

Returning to play for the Lady Knights will be Angela Grmick, Nica Grmick, Kendra Pietenpol, Riley Brockman, Katelyn Rosendahl, Amber Vander Bloomen, Jackie Samuelson, Destiny Schreiber and Stormy Schreiber.

Area athletes seek donations to participate in all-star game

Four athletes from Three Lakes High School recently were invited to play in an all-star eight-man football game set for Saturday, June 27, in Rice Lake and are seeking donations to fund the event.

Brent LaDuke, Riley Liebscher, Dalton Tietsort and Emerson Hegeman will play for the South all-star team, requiring them to travel to Madison for practice.

They will be housed and fed at Madison Abundant
