Pines takes fourth at Lakeland Relays

The Northland Pines High School girls track team took fourth place out of six teams at the Lakeland Relays last Tuesday.

The Eagles scored 55 points to place ahead of Rhinelander with 42 and Three Lakes with two.

Lakeland Union won the meet with 106 points, followed by West Iron County, Mich., with 89 and Tomahawk with 80.

Great Northern Basketball plans skills camp in Phelps

Great Northern Basketball recently announced it will conduct its Stars of Tomorrow and College Prep basketball camps at Phelps High School June 17-19 for boys and girls in fifth through twelfth grades.

Great Northern Basketball Camps are directed by Hibbing Community College head men’s basketball coach Matt Johnson.

Great Northern Basketball Camp emphasizes personal skills along with team participation and leadership development. The camps fo­cus on team and individual abilities, including all fundamental skills.

Jays track competes at Lakeland Relays

The Three Lakes High School track team competed at the ninth annual Lakeland Relays event last Tuesday, which was forced indoors due to weather conditions.

Although they were outmatched by the larger schools present at the meet, Bluejays coach Bobbi Pulver said the event was a learning experience for the team.

Soccer association sets fundraiser dinner PDF Print E-mail

The Headwaters Youth Soccer Association (HYSA) United will hold a chicken and spaghetti fundraiser dinner at Eagle Waters Monday, May 6, from 5 to 8 p.m.

Tickets for the dinner cost $12 for adults and $8 for youths ages 5-17. Children younger than 4 will eat free of charge.
