Artarama seeking artists under age 18

The Artarama Committee is seeking talented young artists to exhibit/sell their work at the Young at Art tent at Artarama set Saturday, July 19, from 9 a.m to 3 p.m., rain or shine, at Eagle River’s Riverside Park.

This special section of Artarama features an entire tent displaying the handmade creations of young artists 18 and younger.

“Our young artists have been very innovative in past years, having created oil paintings, earrings, 3-D greeting cards and airbrushed T-shirts,” said Artarama Young at Art Chairwoman Lori Hahn.

June Bloom arts, crafts festival planned June 1 in Minocqua

The annual June Bloom Arts and Crafts Festival will be held Saturday, May 31, and Sunday, June 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Torpy Park in downtown Minocqua.

The festival, presented by the Minocqua Area Chamber of Commerce, will showcase more than 50 artisans and crafters from the Midwest.

Vendors are selected for their handmade craftsmanship and artistic talents.

Coffee program
The students from the Northland Pines School District TLC Coffee Service Program visited Eagle River Roasters and The Blend in Eagle River to give a presentation on the program. Every Friday, students make and deliver coffee and baked goods to staff members at the high school and middle and elementary schools. For the last two years, Intelligentsia Coffee Co. of Chicago has donated coffee. ‘Discover Wisconsin’ seeking new theme song submissions

The nation’s longest-running tourism TV show, “Discover Wisconsin,” has announced an open call for submissions for a new theme song.

The song will be featured in the introduction of each new episode of “Discover Wisconsin,” which highlights unique destinations across Wisconsin, and airs every weekend across eight states in the Midwest.

Monaghan gets hospitality award

IDM Hospitality Management, a hotel management and development firm headquartered in Madison and with properties around the Midwest, announced that Megan Monaghan, a front desk associate at Black Bear Lodge in St. Germain, won its Heart of Hospitality award.

Heart of Hospitality award recipients are nominated by fellow employees. The award recognizes individuals who have exceeded expectations of hospitality and professionalism.
