Blood drive set May 29

Ministry Eagle River Memorial Hospital will hold a Northwoods Community Blood Center blood drive Thursday, May 29, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the lower level of the Medical Arts Building, located across from the hospital at 150 Hospital Road. Park and enter from the lower level.

Father Jim Fosdick and the members of St. Mary of the Snows Anglican Church in Eagle River engaged in a ceremonial mortgage burning May 11.

St. Mary’s purchased the former Tula's building May 1, 2013, and created The Rock Mission Center, located at 1019 E. Wall St. The 17,500-square-foot building is three and one-half times the size of their former church.

Bird survey slated June 6-8

UW-Green Bay students and Chequamegon-Nicolet National Forest employees will hold the 28th annual Nicolet National Forest Bird Survey June 6-8 in the northern half of the Nicolet National Forest.

The survey’s headquarters will be located at Trees For Tomorrow, a natural resource education center in Eagle River.

Study teams will be composed of experienced birders and novices. No experience is necessary.

Summer Days of Art series to kick off in Land?O’ Lakes

The Land O’ Lakes  Chamber of Commerce, in partnership with Land O’ Lakes Area Artisans Inc. (LOLA), announced that the Summer Days of Art series, which has daily summer activities for visitors and residents, will be held Memorial Day through Colorama, May 24-Sept. 30.

Saturday, May 24, will feature the LOLA Antique Car and Boat Show at Brew’s Pub  from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a corn-toss team competition, square and line dancing,
