National Honor Society
The Northland Pines High School Aquila Chapter of National Honor Society recently inducted seven new members. Students eligible for the selection process must earn a 3.5 cumulative grade-point average or higher. In addition, faculty council representatives factor in character references, examples of leadership skills and community volunteer efforts during the selection process. Lions, Lioness clubs provide scholarships

The North Central Wisconsin Lions and Lioness Clubs show their support of community youth by presenting scholarships to deserving students who wish to continue their education.

“Helping young people  continue their education is one of the challenges our community faces, and it’s a need our clubs continue to address,” said District Governor Roger Weber of Sayner.

“We are also extraordinarily grateful for the support and contributions we received from members of the community. You are helping us make a difference,” added Weber.

Pines solo, ensemble results announced

Northland Pines High School (NPHS) and Northland?Pines?Middle?School (NPMS) music students participated in Solo and Ensemble at Lakeland Union High School March 20. Students performed as soloists or members of small ensembles.

All students receiving a star first rating in Class A qualify for State Solo Ensemble competition.

Hygenist retires
Pat Fox, a dental hygienist at Gremban & Gremban Dental Office in Eagle River retired last Thursday after 42 years working in the office. Fox said she will miss her co-workers and patients, including some three-generation families. “I met so many neat families during my career,” she said.
