Fall Classic planned Oct. 5

The Headwaters Chapter of Muskies Inc., in association with the Three Lakes Area Chamber of Commerce, will host the Fall Classic of Champions on the Three Lakes Chain.

This year’s catch-and-release tournament will be a one-day event taking place Saturday, Oct. 5. Registration will be held Friday, Oct. 4, from 5:30 to 8 p.m. at Northernaire Resort and Spa in Three Lakes, which also will serve as tournament headquarters.

Youth waterfowl hunt set this weekend

Regular goose season starts Sept. 16 in North

The popular two-day youth waterfowl hunt will take place this Saturday and Sunday, Sept. 14-15, followed by the regular Canada goose hunting season in the Exterior and Horicon zones, which kicks off Monday, Sept. 16.

The youth waterfowl hunt offers youth age 12 to 15 — or those 10 and over hunting under the mentored hunting law — the opportunity to learn skills from an adult without some of the pressure that might be encountered during the regular season.

Ruffed Grouse Society to host fundraiser dinner in Boulder

The Chain O’ Lakes Chapter and Rib Mountain Chapter of the Ruffed Grouse Society (RGS) have teamed up to host a Hunt for Habitat Dinner at Gooch’s A-One Bar and Grill Saturday, Oct. 5.

Gooch’s is located at 6215 Highway M?in Boulder Junction. A social hour at 5 p.m. will kick off the event, and dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m.

Registration costs $20 and all proceeds from the event will benefit Wisconsin Drummer Fund habitat projects.
