33-year-old Arbor Vitae man dies in motorcycle accident

The 33-year-old man who died in a motorcycle accident in the town of Arbor Vitae has been identified as Nathaniel J. Dalum.

Vilas County Dispatch received a 911 call shortly after midnight on Aug. 31 reporting a motorcycle crash in the area of Gross Road and Milton Lane.

According to a press release from the Vilas County Sheriff’s Office, the caller reported that the motorcycle was warm to the touch but no one was around.

“Upon arrival of our deputy, he began checking the area and quickly located the operator. Once located, it was determined the operator and sole occupant had succumbed from their injuries sustained during the crash,” the press release said.

The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office was assisted by the Woodruff Police Department, Arbor Vitae Fire/Rescue, Med 5 and the Oneida County Medical Examiner’s Office.
