Annual Wi-Does Wine Walk to feature wine tastings, shopping specials

Posted

The Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce invites residents and visitors to enjoy an afternoon of wine tasting, shopping and socializing during the annual Wi-Does Wine Walk on Saturday, Nov. 21, from noon to 4 p.m.

Held on the opening weekend of Wisconsin’s gun deer hunting season, the fall tradition offers participants an opportunity to explore downtown Eagle River businesses while sampling wines and taking advantage of special shopping deals.

Participants will receive a commemorative wine glass and a map of participating businesses, where they can sample handpicked wines and enjoy special offers.

“Wi-Does Wine Walk is one of my favorite Eagle River traditions! I love seeing friends stroll downtown, shop, share laughs and enjoy good wine,” said event co-organizer Katie Hayes of Mary Kate’s Wine Bar. “With more than 46 wines to sample, from sweet and light to big and bold, there’s something for everyone. It’s also a great chance to get a head start on holiday shopping with special deals at participating businesses.”

New to this year’s event is Offshoot Books & Vinyl.

“I’m excited to be part of a day so many people look forward to every fall,” said owner Mark Pinski. “We’ll have some fun deals, and I’m looking forward to welcoming people in to explore our vinyl and books!”

This year’s 23 participating businesses include Aiello’s, Andy’s Pontoon Saloon, Arrow Gift Shop, A Beautiful Calling Ethical Boutique, Breakaway Sports, Brothermanz Bar, Eagle River Historical Society, Eagle River Pet Company, Everything I Love Boutique, Fredrick’s Corner Shoppe, Glik’s, Grandma’s Toy Box, Herbert Realty, Laketime Management, Minocqua Popcorn, Offshoot Books & Vinyl, Roots Juice Pub, Salon & Spa on Railroad, Splash Soap Company, Smugglers Lounge, TNT Nutrition, Warehouse Arts Center and Zen Boutique.

Advance tickets are $40 per person and are available through the Eagle River Area Chamber of Commerce or online at eagleriver.org. Tickets will be $50 on the day of the event, if available. The event has sold out in previous years, so advance purchase is encouraged.

Check-in will take place from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Square, 229 E. Wall St., in downtown Eagle River. Participants will receive a goodie bag, commemorative wine glass, map and sampling punch card.

Nicolet Bank and Redman Realty are this year’s commemorative wine glass sponsors.
