Bluejays golf grab academic all-state team award

Posted

The Golf Coaches Association of Wisconsin (GCAW) announced on July 10 that the Three Lakes-Phelps varsity golf team was given an academic all-state team award, with bronze-level recognition.

Bronze-level teams have an average cumulative GPA of 3.25 to 3.49.

The Team Academic All-State Award was established to recognize high school golf teams with the highest team grade point averages (‘team’ is defined as the five golfers on the roster for the boys’ 2026 WIAA regional tournament or conference championship).

Three individual Bluejay golfers also got on the 2026 individual academic all-state team list.
Grayson Polcaster, Levi Lurvey and Matthew Klein were the recipients of that award as high-honor recipients. The trio joined 495 athletes from 166 other high schools around the state.
Students are submitted by member coaches and must meet specific criteria to be eligible for the award. Those criteria include a cumulative GPA of 3.25 or higher; participating in at least 75% of varsity competitions; being in good standing at a specific school; and being a sophomore, junior or senior.

The GCAW was formed by high school golf coaches in 1986 to help build and enhance Wisconsin’s reputation for developing quality junior players by promoting golf in our schools and communities.
