Bobbie Schmidt of Eagle River, died unexpectedly on Dec. 18, 2024, at Aspirus Wausau Hospital. She was 78.
Mrs. Schmidt was born in Catron, MO on July 9, 1946, to Henry Sr. and Mavis Conklin.
Mrs. Schmidt spent most of her professional career in the insurance business.
Mrs. Schmidt loved spending time with her children, grandchildren and extended family. She enjoyed traveling, she took a cruise to Alaska, she also took trips to Switzerland and France to watch her youngest granddaughter play hockey, Pennsylvania to see her grandson graduate law school, New Orleans in preparation for her oldest granddaughter's graduation from law school.
Mrs. Schmidt also enjoyed helping her husband research and write books about trains. They attended meetings and railroad conventions together. She was a staff member, volunteer and avid church goer at Prince of Peace Church in Eagle River.
Mrs. Schmidt was preceded in death by her parents, Henry Sr. and Mavis; brother, Eddie; sister, Willa Mae.
She is survived by husband, Floyd "Bud"; son, Michael (Michelle); daughter, Michelle (Jaime); four grandchildren four brothers, Harold (Christina), Willie (Pam), Henry Jr, William (Jean); two sisters, Geri, Shirley (Jim); numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
A visitation was held January 2, 2025, at the Gaffney-Busha Funeral Home in Eagle River, WI. A funeral service was held Jan. 3, 2025, at Mt. Zion Baptist Church in Madison, WI. Burial took place at the Central Wisconsin Veterans Cemetery in King, WI.
