Charles R. Galasinski

Charles R. Galasinski, 88, of Eagle River, passed away of natural causes on May 4, 2026.

Chuck was born to Dr. Roman (Florence) Galasinski in Milwaukee on June 1937.

He attended Marquette University in Milwaukee, earning dual Bachelor of Science degrees in Chemistry (Pre-Med) and Mechanical Engineering.

Chuck spent more than 30 years working in the aerospace industry at Hamilton Sundstrand in Rockford, Illinois. Shortly after starting at Sundstrand, he met Nancy Holt, and they were married in 1965. Together they shared 52 memorable years before Nancy's passing in 2018.

After retiring, Chuck moved to Eagle River, Wisconsin, where he spent 29 wonderful years in retirement in his favorite place in the world on the Three Lakes Chain. There, he was truly in his natural element: caring for his deer, playing with his tractor (and later his Toolcat), cleaning up the woods, logging trees, and plowing his driveway each winter.

Chuck was passionate about working with his hands, fixing things ("never throw anything away"), and being outdoors.
"Up North," Chuck became a beloved neighbor and friend, surrounded by a close and supportive community that he deeply cherished. His family and friends remember him for his generosity, his enthusiasm and energy for spending time with others, his determination to fix just about everything, and, most of all, his unwavering optimism, even through life's most difficult challenges. His smile and hearty "Hello!" will be fondly remembered and deeply missed.

Chuck is survived by his daughter, Kristine Wagner; his grandson, Christopher Wagner; his nephew, David Reimer; and his son, Scott (Shelly) Galasinski, and grandsons Ty and Reed Galasinski.
