Chicago tribute band to perform Nov. 7

Posted

Headwaters Council for the Performing Arts (HCPA) will present “Alive Again: A Tribute to Chicago” on Saturday, Nov. 7, at 7 p.m. at the Northland Pines Middle and High School auditorium.

Alive Again is a Midwest-based tribute band dedicated to recreating the music of Chicago, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame group known for its distinctive blend of rock, jazz and pop.

Featuring musicians and vocalists, including a three-piece horn section, the group performs music spanning Chicago's decades-long career. A narrator shares the history of the original band throughout the concert, providing background on the music and musicians.

The program includes familiar hits such as “Saturday in the Park,” “25 or 6 to 4,” “Does Anybody Really Know What Time It Is?,” “If You Leave Me Now,” “Hard to Say I'm Sorry” and “You're the Inspiration.”

Prior to the concert, Dr. Patrick Phelan, founder of Alive Again, will host a question-and-answer session from 6:15 to 6:45 p.m. in the Northland Pines school commons. Phelan will discuss the formation of the group, his experiences performing in a tribute band and what audiences can expect from the evening's concert.

Organizers said the session may be of particular interest to area music students, especially those involved in concert and jazz bands, who will have an opportunity to ask questions and gain insight from a professional musician.

Tickets are $35 for adults and $15 for students and are available online at hcpapresents.com, at Eagle River Roasters or at the door beginning at 6 p.m. All seating is general admission, and both the school and auditorium are wheelchair accessible. Board members will be available to provide assistance as needed.

HCPA is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization supported in part by grants from the Wisconsin Arts Board, the National Endowment for the Arts, the state of Wisconsin and the Wisconsin Public Service Foundation, as well as a 2026 grant from We Energies.
