Connie Eaton

Connie Lee (née Smith) Eaton passed away peacefully Monday, December 15, 2025, at Milestone Senior Living Center in Eagle River at the age of 95.

She was born in Rhinelander, WI, on November 8, 1930, to Dallas and Dorothy Smith. 

Connie married Kenneth Eaton, the love of her life on December 1, 1951, they just celebrated their 74th wedding anniversary.

Connie worked for a local insurance company, Smith Electric, and the First National Bank during her career. 

Connie loved her motorcycles, snowmobiles, and water skiing. One of her greatest feats was in  one day water skiing non-stop the entire length of the Eagle River Chain of Lakes, consisting of 10 lakes, and it was about 14 miles long. She was also devoted to her family.  

Connie was preceded in death by her parents, Dallas and Dorothy Smith; and younger sister, Gwendolyn Smith.

She has survived by her husband, Kenneth “Ken” Eaton; daughter’s, Jane (Eric) Nyman, Betty Bauer of Eagle River; son, Scott (Simone) Eaton, Alva, FL; granddaughter, Rebecca (Keith) Hernandez; great granddaughters, Zoë and Harmony Hernandez of Eagle River. 

Private family services will be held. 

Connie’s family wants to thank the staff at Milestone Senior Living center in Eagle River for all the love and care that they gave her.
