Flambeau man sentenced for OWI

Duane Poupart Sr., 66, of Lac du Flambeau, pleaded guilty to one felony charge of Operating While Intoxicated (OWI) last week at a plea/sentencing hearing. Judge Martha Milanowski sentenced Poupart to 12 months of initial confinement and two years of extended supervision. There will be 36 months of an IID and a 36-month revocation.
The offense took place on Aug. 29, 2025.

Jonah Walker, 22, of Rhinelander, pleaded guilty to one felony charge of possession of methamphetamine at a plea hearing last week. Judge Martha Milanowksi reviewed the Deferred Entry of Judgement agreement and ordered an 18-month DEJ through Justice Point. A review hearing was scheduled for Sept. 23 at 11 a.m.

Joshua Gurneau, 32, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a plea/sentencing hearing on one felony charge of threat to cause bodily harm to certain individuals involved with the court or legal system. Gurneau pleaded guilty to the charge. Judge Martha Milanowski imposed and stayed a nine-month sentence in Vilas Jail for 24 months of probation with conditions. Financial obligations of $518 is to be paid directly to the Clerk of Courts Office. The offense occurred on Nov. 28, 2025.
