Flambeau man placed on probation for drug conviction
Christopher Valliere, 38, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a plea/sentencing hearing on one felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and one felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs. Valliere pleaded guilty to both counts and was sentenced to 30 months of probation with conditions. A nine-month sentence in Vilas Jail was stayed by Judge Martha Milanowski. There were four days of presentence credit in the case of revocation.
Allen Check, 63, of Stevens Point, appeared for a plea/sentencing hearing on multiple felony charges and one misdemeanor. Check pleaded guilty to one felony count of taking and driving a vehicle without consent, one felony charge of operator fleeing an officer and the one misdemeanor charge. One felony bail-jumping charge was dismissed but read into the record for sentencing. Judge Daniel Overbey withheld sentences for the two felony charges and ordered Check to serve five years of probation with conditions. The misdemeanor charge came with a one-year probation sentence with 45 days of conditional jail. In the case of revocation, Check would serve the stayed sentence of six months in Vilas Jail.
