Flambeau man placed on probation for drug convictions

Devin Hampton, 21, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a sentencing hearing on one felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs and a misdemeanor charge of possession of THC.

Judge Daniel Overbey placed Hampton on two years of probation with conditions for the felony charge. There were also $518 in court costs. Judge Overbey ordered three days in Vilas County Jail, time served, for the misdemeanor.

Joseph Poupart, 42, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for an adjourned initial appearance on one felony charge of fifth or sixth-offense OWI, one felony count of vehicle operator flee/elude officer and one felony charge of bail jumping. Poupart’s cash bond was adjusted down from $5,000 cash to $2,500 cash with conditions. Officer Ashlee Allen from the Lac du Flambeau Tribal Police Department testified at a preliminary hearing on Jan. 9 and identified Poupart as the defendant. Probable cause was found in the case, and a not-guilty plea was entered. A judicial pretrial was set for Feb. 24 at 9:15 a.m.

The alleged offenses occurred on Nov. 7, 2025.

Kyrian La Barge, 28, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for an arraignment hearing on one felony charge of threat to cause bodily harm to certain individuals in the court or legal system and one misdemeanor bail-jumping charge. La Barge pleaded not guilty to the counts and continued to represent himself in the case. A judicial pretrial was scheduled for Feb. 24 at 10:45 a.m. The alleged offenses occurred on Aug. 16, 2025.
