Arbor Vitae man placed on probation for drug charges

Kevin Lobermeier, 36, of Arbor Vitae, appeared for a plea/sentencing hearing on one felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. Another felony charge of possession of THC (2nd+ offense) was dismissed, but read into the record for sentencing. Lobermeier pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine felony.

Judge Martha Milanowski stayed a sentence of 18 months of confinement and 24 months of extended supervision for two years of probation with conditions. There were $518 in court costs, payable to the Clerk of Courts office. There were 35 days of credit in the case of revocation.
The offense took place on Dec. 27, 2024.

Alesha Swanson, 33, of Fairchild, had a plea hearing last week on one felony charge of theft-business setting >$100,000 and one felony charge of fraudulent writings/by forgery. Swanson pleaded guilty to both counts during the plea hearing. A sentencing hearing was scheduled for Feb. 4 at 9 a.m. The alleged offenses took place on June 1, 2018.

Patrick Talbott, 46, of Eagle River, appeared in custody from the Vilas County Jail for a preliminary hearing on one felony charge of a threat to cause bodily harm to certain individuals in the court or legal system. He is also being charged with two other misdemeanors. Officer Dustin Wichmann from the Eagle River Police Department provided testimony at the hearing. Probable cause was found, and a not-guilty plea was entered. A judicial pretrial was scheduled for Feb. 24 at 8:30 a.m. The alleged offenses occurred on Dec. 13, 2025.

Sausheen La Barge, 41, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a plea/sentencing hearing in four different felony cases. La Barge pleaded guilty to all counts, with one felony bail-jumping charge being dismissed but read into the record for sentencing. Judge Martha Milanowski imposed and stayed sentences in all cases for four years of probation with conditions. The felony charges included manufacturing/delivering fentanyl, two bail jumping charges, one possession of narcotic drugs and one misdemeanor.
