Glenn Ford, 24, of New York, appeared in custody for a preliminary hearing on one felony charge of fraud against a financial institution (value exceeds $500 but not $10,000) and one felony charge of misappropriation of ID to obtain money.
Detective Sergeant Ryan Rossing from the Eagle River Police Department testified and identified Ford. Probable cause was found, and Ford was bound over for arraignment. A notguilty plea was entered into the record, and a bond motion was also denied during the hearing.
There was also a speedy trial request, and the jury trial for the case is scheduled for Jan. 2728. The final pretrial was scheduled for Jan. 14 at 8:35 a.m. The alleged offense occurred on December 2, 2025.
Alizay Doss, 28, of Lac du Flambeau, made a speedy trial demand at a status hearing on one felony charge of possession of a firearmconvicted of a felony. Bond was continued, and a jury trial was scheduled for March 16 at 8:15 a.m. The final pretrial was scheduled for Feb. 11 at 11 a.m.
John Edwards, 41, of St. Germain, appeared for an initial appearance on one felony charge of fifth-or-sixth offense OWI and one felony charge of possession of narcotic drugs. Judge Martha Milanowski ordered a $7,500 cash bond with conditions to maintain sobriety, not take prescription drugs unless prescribed and not to drive a vehicle until further court order. The alleged offenses occurred on Dec. 21, 2025.
Walter Lannet Jr., 52, of Eagle River, pleaded guilty to two felony charges at a plea/sentencing hearing, which included fifth-or-sixth offense OWI and bail jumping.
The OWI was charged as a sixth offense. Judge Daniel Overbey ordered Lennet Jr. to serve three years of confinement in the WPS and three years of extended supervision for the OWI offense. He also ordered one year of confinement and one year of extended supervision for the bail-jumping offense.
Both counts will run concurrently with each other and with whatever he is currently serving. There was a $1,800 fine plus costs totaling $3,464, payable to the Department of Corrections, a 3year revocation and a 3year IID. The offenses took place on May 28, 2025.
Geronimo Durant, 44, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a sentencing hearing on revocation of one felony charge of possession of a firearm, convicted of a felony.
Judge Overbey ordered Durant to serve 12 months in Vilas County Jail with huber privileges. There were 44 days of presentence credit in the case. The offense occurred on Nov. 15, 2016.
