Cox faces probation, restitution payment in relation to December ER fraud case

Xavier Cox, 23, of New York, pleaded guilty to one felony charge of harboring/aiding a felon at a plea hearing last week in Vilas County Jail. He was found guilty by Judge Martha Milanowski.

In a sentencing hearing late last week, Cox was ordered to face 18 months of probation with conditions after Judge Milanowski stayed a sentence of one year of confinement and two years of extended supervision. Cox will also pay $9,830 in restitution plus applicable surcharges (joint and several) and $518 in court costs. The offense took place on Dec. 2, 2025.

Jonathan Slizewski, 46, of Eagle River, has a plea/sentencing hearing on March 6 (one felony charge of possession of methamphetamine, one felony bail-jumping charge, another case of felony criminal damage to highway/vehicle, and two bail-jumping charges and one possession of narcotic drugs charge).

Trinity Duncan, 25, of St. Germain, pleaded guilty to one felony charge of possession of methamphetamine and one misdemeanor operating while revoked charge at a plea/sentencing hearing last week.

Judge Martha Milanowski ordered three years of probation with conditions for the felony charge and one year of probation with conditions for the misdemeanor. There were $443 in court costs in the case. If probation is revoked, Judge Milanowski stayed a sentence of one year of confinement and two years of extended supervision for the felony and six months in Vilas Jail for the misdemeanor. The offenses occurred on July 20, 2025.
