Washburn man sentenced for drug possession charge

Joshua Charette, 39, of Washburn, pleaded guilty to one felony charge of possession with intent to deliver narcotics at a plea/sentencing hearing last week. Another felony charge from another case was dismissed but read into the record for sentencing. Judge Daniel Overbey found Charette guilty and stayed a sentence of two years of confinement and three years of extended supervision for three years of probation with conditions. There were $518 in court costs and 18 days’ credit. The offense occurred on June 6, 2024.

Augustine Allen, 35, of Lac du Flambeau, appeared for a preliminary hearing on one felony charge of bail jumping and one misdemeanor battery charge. Judge Martha Milanowski found probable cause in the case, and an arraignment hearing was scheduled for Sept. 21 at 1:30 p.m.
