Following a brief illness, Daniel Lee Doucette, 71, of Indianapolis, IN passed on Dec. 19, 2024, surrounded by his family.
He was born in Tomahawk, WI to Nieland “Nocky” and Betty Doucette on Nov. 21, 1953. He attended Tomahawk High School, where he was an accomplished wrestler.
Dan received a master’s degree in guidance counselling from the University of Wisconsin – Superior.
He worked for many years as a guidance counselor in the Northland Pines School District (Eagle River, WI), assisting many students. He spent his summers developing a talent for house painting.
Dan was an accomplished hunter and fisherman, growing up near the Tomahawk River. He often entertained his family and friends with stories about fishing. Living most of his life in Wisconsin, Dan was an avid fan of the Green Bay Packers and Milwaukee Brewers. Spending an evening fishing while listening to a Brewers game was something he greatly enjoyed.
Dan is survived by his wife, Barbara; three daughters, Jess Doucette, Janessa (Joe Frederickson) Doucette, Jordan (Nickolaus) Hall; son, Ryan Doucette. He also is survived by four sisters, Carol (Charles) Jensen, Jeanne (Bill) Grodevant, Sue Doucette and Jude (Mike) Stevenson; four brothers, Tom, Bob (Beth), John and Bill (Jane). Dan also had a granddaughter, Iris, who was born this year and many nieces and nephews.
