Doris Komorowski
Doris Jean Komorowski passed away peacefully on August 29, 2026, just days after her 86th birthday. It was a dreamy afternoon, reflecting the heavy hearts of her family who loved her dearly.
Dori grew up in Milwaukee, WI, but spent the last 30+ years living in the cabin her family built in 1972 on the shores of Little St. Germain Lake.
She found comfort in the slow, steady rhythm of life up North. Every afternoon (weather permitting), you could find her down by the water, heading back up for supper at 4:30 sharp. She loved tracking the Northwoods seasonal patterns in her notebook, from the arrival of the first fisherman to the first snowfall.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie & Alice Strelow; her husband, Donald Komorowski; and her sister, Diane Klamer.
She is survived by her children, David & Dianne Komorowski, Danny & Cindy Komorowski and Denise & Brian Early. She is lovingly remembered as “Grandma by the Lake” by her Grandchildren & Great-Grandchildren Jason & Chloe Komorowski (Blythe, Sutton, Rhett); Chris & Kari Komorowski (Skyla); Nathan & Anna Komorowski (Finley); Kyly Komorowski; Mitchell Komorowski, Kendra Early, and Kyah Early.
A small gathering will be held at a later date. To honor her memory, take a quiet afternoon to sit by the shores of the water.
